This policy explains what data GameVerse collects, why we collect it, how we use and protect it, and what rights you have over your information. By using GameVerse you agree to the practices described here.
1. Data we collect
- Account data: email address, display name, profile avatar/banner and password hash when you sign up with email and password.
- Google sign-in data: when you choose "Continue with Google", we receive from Google only your name, email address and profile picture, used exclusively to create and authenticate your GameVerse account. We do not access your Gmail, Drive, contacts, calendar or any other Google data.
- Profile data: biography, professional area, social links and public feedback you choose to publish.
- Payment data: purchases and payouts are processed by Stripe. GameVerse never stores your full card number; we only keep the amount, currency, date and status of each transaction. Sellers connect their own Stripe account to receive payouts.
- Content you upload: products, files, cover images and descriptions you publish as a seller.
- Technical data: IP address, browser type, device and pages visited, used for security, fraud prevention and abuse detection.
- Support data: messages you send to support or through platform chats.
2. How we use your data
- Create and authenticate your account, including two-factor authentication.
- Process purchases, deliver products to your library and pay sellers.
- Issue originality certificates for published products.
- Scan uploaded files for malware and moderate content.
- Prevent fraud, piracy and abuse of the platform.
- Send transactional emails (purchase receipts, security alerts, password recovery).
- Improve the platform based on aggregated, anonymized usage.
3. Data sharing
- Stripe: payment processing and seller payouts, under Stripe's own privacy policy.
- Google: only when you choose Google sign-in, limited to the authentication data described above.
- Infrastructure providers: hosting and database services that process data on our behalf under strict confidentiality.
- Legal obligations: we may disclose data when required by law, court order or to respond to valid DMCA notices.
4. Cookies and local storage
We use essential cookies and local storage to keep you signed in, remember your language, currency and theme preferences, and keep your shopping cart. We do not use third-party advertising trackers.
5. Data retention
Account data is kept while your account is active. Purchase records are kept as required by tax and consumer law. Originality certificates remain stored to preserve authorship proof even if a product is removed.
6. Security
We use HTTPS encryption, hashed passwords, optional two-factor authentication (TOTP and backup codes), row-level access controls in the database and malware scanning of uploaded files. No system is 100% secure, but we continuously monitor and improve our protections.
7. Your rights
You may access, correct or delete your personal data at any time from your profile settings, or request full account deletion by contacting support. Deleting your account removes your personal data, except records we must keep for legal reasons (e.g. transaction history) and originality certificates already issued.
8. Children
GameVerse is not directed at children under 13. If you are under the legal age in your country, use the platform only with a parent or guardian.
9. International transfers
Data may be processed on servers located outside your country. Whenever that happens, we apply safeguards equivalent to those described in this policy.
10. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top and, for significant changes, notify users by email or a notice on the site.
